NUITEQ releases Snowflake Suite 1.7 with Windows 7 compatibility and support for 3M Touch Systems and N-trig

Natural User Interface Technologies AB (NUITEQ) launched version 1.7 of its multi-touch software product Snowflake Suite, shortly after the introduction of Windows 7 by Microsoft.

One of the major changes since version 1.6 of Snowflake, is the compatibility with Windows 7, Microsoft’s latest operating system, that was launched last week, which has a strong focus on multi-touch enabled human computer interaction.

Another one of the major achievements is the compatibility of Snowflake with third party multi-touch hardware technology platforms, including; 3M Touch Systems, Lumio and N-trig. The latter technology, for example is integrated in multi-touch enabled laptops from HP, Dell and other major computer manufacturers.

NUITEQ has been closely working with 3M Touch Systems, N-trig and Lumio to ensure that Snowflake Suite is compatible with their novel true multi-touch hardware technology platforms and Windows 7…..

We wanted to switch from our previous black, underground, mystery, design themed website to a white, fresh, corporate, clearer themed website, that at the same time improves the readability of the content. The change of the website perfectly illustrates the transformation that the company has been going through as well. The change in theme also fits well within the demarcation in between the corporate NUITEQ website (white) and this corporate blog (black).

I am very honored to have participated in todays interview with Vinton “the father of the Internet” Cerf, Google Vice President and Chief Internet Evangelist.

Cerf who had received a honorary degree from the Luleå University of Technology (Sweden) (LTU) (where I also studied) was speaking in Stockholm at IVA and during a Q&A section with live video broad casting from Dreamhack Skelleftea, where LTU is a main organizer, a select group of people with roots in LTU, were selected to ask questions.

Because of the roots that NUITEQ and I have in LTU, I was amongst others selected to ask a question. Unfortunately the technology died on the spot, as the mic was not working anymore. Luckily a moderator was so friendly to pick up the question and miraculously it worked again after 5 minutes

It was very interesting and fun to hear Cerfs talk. If somebody changed the world it is him, so an amazing source of inspiration.

Cerfs contributions have been recognized repeatedly, with honorary degrees and awards that include the National Medal of Technology, the Turing Award and the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Natural User Interface Technologies AB’s (NUITEQ) multi-touch software product Snowflake Suite, got featured in the latest video from NUITEQ’s partner N-trig.

The video demonstrates the N-trig DuoSense true multi-touch solution utilizing up to four fingers. The video features various multi-touch enabled applications, including how to pan and rotate using up to four fingers on Google Earth, a demonstration of how to play various onscreen musical instruments using the Snowflake Suite Music application, and a new hands-on way to play Sudoku.

N-trigs technology is amongst others used in the HP TouchSmart TX2, Dell Latitude XT and XT2 laptops.

Snowflake Suite for the N-trig platform will be commercially available in the upcoming weeks and NUITEQ offers 10% discount + 3 months of free upgrades on pre orders of Snowflake licenses for the N-trig platform.

In September, after my visit to New York, to pick up the Stevie Award Finalist recognition for Snowflake Suite in the International Business Awards, I met the Business team of 3M Touch in their facility in Boston.

Now Snowflake Suite is compatible with 3M’s amazing multi-touch technology platform.

3M’s technology is accurate, high performance and supports true multi-touch. This is a very interesting technology.

Globacore, a Canada headquartered company that is turning creative technological ideas into creative technological realities, delivered an amazing multi touch system for the Aldar booth at Cityscape Dubai 2009.

The system uses NUITEQ’s Snowflake vision tracker and a custom by Globacore developed Flash AS3 front-end.
